Rubber Roof Install in NC- Cary Roof Replacements

Do you want to get rubber shingles for your flat roof replacement, and don’t know where or how to start? Worry not, our roofing company has handled such projects before and we can always do it again. Rubber roof install in NC requires a step by step tutorial it’s much detailed for the experts, but we want you to get a picture of what we do in a few words.
1 Clean and prepare the roof surface
The rubber roof doesn’t adhere well to dirty or wet surfaces. When preparing the roof deck ensure that you remove the dirt, dust, grease, and rust. Drain all water ponds and leave it to dry.
2 Mount drip batten
At the edges, where the roof joins to the gutters there’s a possibility of water sipping through. Mounting drip batten on these areas ensures that dripping water runs towards the gutters instead of flowing back.
3 Mount the drip trim
On the drip trim you’ll notice that it has a back and front piece. Mount its back plate onto the drip batten and ensure that the trim’s back top edge aligns with it.
4 Remove the wall up stand
Prepare the wall for flashing by removing brick mortar joint. Use a mortar chisel or angular grinder; these two are effective for removing the mortar joint.
5 Position the rubber membrane and allow it to relax for 30 minutes
6 Fold the membrane
Expose the roof deck by folding the rubber membrane backwards until it’s halfway.
7 Apply adhesive to the deck
The best adhesive should be water based, use a 9 inches paint roller to apply it on the deck. Make sure to leave out an unbounded area of 150mm on the decks perimeter. This area shall be bonded later using contact adhesive.
8 Release the rubber membrane and sweep it on the deck
Release the membrane and let it fall back onto the adhesive. Remove any trapped air and increase the bonding by sweeping the membrane.
9 Apply contact adhesive on roof deck’s perimeter
Now is the perfect time to apply contact adhesive on the unbounded roof deck perimeter. Using a pint roller, apply a thin coat of contact adhesive on the back of rubber membrane and on the 150mm deck perimeter  which you left out when applying deck adhesive.
10 Leave the contact adhesive to cure
11 Fold the roof’s rubber membrane onto the corner
12 Pinch the rubber membrane to create pig ears
13 Fold these ears and let them lie on the roof’s side
14 Fit the corners by nailing the membrane to batten
15 Remove excess rubber membrane by trimming its edges
16 Complete rubber roof
After a rubber roof install in NC, expect it to last you over 50 years with little repairs and maintenance along the way.
